On Dec 2, 2006 Daniel participated in the VSA arts of AL International Young Soloist Award 2007 competition held in Birmingham, AL. This is the state division of the International Young Soloist Award to be held at the
Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in the spring. A winner and a runner-up are selected from each state, a video copy of their performance is then sent to the National VSA where 2 will be chosen to represent the USA in the International Young Soloist Award competition at the Kennedy Center. VSA arts promotes the arts among individuals with disabilities. The young soloist category is open up to individuals between 13- 25 years of age with a disability .

This year Daniel was chosen as VSA arts of AL International Young Soloist Award 2007 Runner-up and will represent the state of Alabama in the next level.

We will not know until the end of January , whether or not Daniel will be one of the 2 selected to go to Washington and represent the USA in the International Competition. One of the songs that was sent in his performance video was "I'll Run With You"
What a statement of faith this would be to have this performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC

We would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Daniel was winning this award.
